Design Romotop

Industrial design is one of the decisive success factors of industrially manufactured products in increasingly strict competitive environment. Implementation and application of design principles in all areas, i.e. from design to final product, is a matter of must today. I am lucky to co-operate with company Romotop, where I can apply my designer experience and invention in co-operation with whole team of development personnel of the company.

Romotop´s product range covers a wide scope of hearth stoves from simple, practical types and the offer of various designs according to performance and size of firing chambers up to exclusive stoves of higher class and performance. With regard to the fact that the product range of hearth stoves is really wide and often it is necessary more or less to respect the customers´ - dealers´ wish, the designer´s input contribution to realization of individual types of stoves is more or less variable.

Good design, as required by the customer, is a symbiosis of both technical maturity of the product and the form and its ability to become effectively and aesthetically integrated into certain type of interior. I present hearth stove designs and studies in a form of computer visualisations that respect the specified dimensions and customer´s requests to maximum extent.

Industrial design is an integral part of the management and plays an indispensable role in the company´s strategy. This is reflected by designer´s position and assignment in the company. In 2001, OPUS hearth stoves won the Good Design prize in competition of the Design Centre of the Czech Republic for Excellent Product of the Year.

For my work it is necessary to have a good co-operation with technical department of the company while searching for the optimum solution. The designer´s contribution to creation of a new product is decisive from the point of invention, aesthetic and composition arrangement and shape. Yet, the engineer´s contribution to development of a new product, his ability to communicate with the designer, is equally important. We have been successful in this point so far and I believe that it will continue to be the case.

It is necessary to aim high. Only the best ones can be successful and we want to design and prepare for production only the best-quality projects. We are aware that the customer today is more demanding and cultivated as well. I wish. for myself and our customers, that the stoves by Romotop not only provide good service but also bring joy and satisfaction to our homes.
